Tokyo Market Turnips
So quick, so fresh, so sweet--these are a great alternative to radishes. I love the sweet flavor, the fine, non-pithy texture, and the complexity of flavor that is beyond any radish I know of. A great first salad crop, and the leaves are good as greens as well. In Japan, they are glazed, steamed, or used in soup, with the leaves still attached. Spring. Our packets have substantially more seeds than most companies put in turnip packets. We want people to discover what a great fresh, crunchy vegetable the roots are with dips or in salad. And we hope people will try overwintering turnips for their delicious greens and spring flower shoots.
