AKA Dyer's Coreopsis, Plains Coreopsis. Native to the American Plains, this is as trouble-free as any plant could be. Grows to 3' but doesn't need staking, handles wind, casts almost no shade, fits in well with other plants--this is the perfect tall companion plant for vegetables or the landscape. Flowers just keep coming, in hundreds all over the plant. If they slacken, just cut the plant back and give it a bit of compost and a good watering. You will have more right away. Attracts native bees, beneficials of all sorts. Dye plant. The red spot on the petals is variable--you can collect seed from those you like best all the way from all-yellow to all-red. 200 seeds
