Heavenly Blue Morning Glory
Every garden has something that would be better if it were covered in blue flowers. Pictures can't possibly do justice to this shimmering blue in graceful trumpets. The one shown was climbing up the canes of a climbing rose against a fence. Fence, trellis, drainpipe, no parking sign, strings stretched across an ugly view--every yard has someplace. Try growing them up sunflowers for a fantastic color combination. Or make a sunflower house: plant them in a circle, and plant morning glories at their base, to make a cool shelter. I have also seen it draping down banks and retaining walls--even, memorably, down a freeway embankment. I have put it in a pot on an old stump to cover the whole thing. It is amazing how much these annual vines can grow in one summer. These seem to like their head in the sun and feet in moist soil, so a mulch or understory plants are all to the good. Plant after frost in regular garden soil. Trust me, you'll love them. 50 seeds
