One of the indispensibles, both in the kitchen and in the garden. I seldom cook meat or protein dishes without some thyme branches to add savor. The best way I know to head off a cold or that run-down, played-out feeling is a bowl of Spanish Thyme Soup. My patch of Creeping Thyme spills over a stone wall (cinderblocks, actually, but the thyme hides them) and is alive with pollinators and beneficials all summer. (see the honeybee in the photo?) One of the best honey plants. Used in teas and tinctures for asthma, cough, and chest problems, thyme is also showing up in research as an immune system booster.
