Lettuce, Bronze Goldring
This early romaine is widely considered the best-tasting lettuce of all--it is definitely on my top 3. English heirloom selected by the Goldring family. Best for spring; follow it with it's hot-weather relative Cougar for midsummer. Usually known as Brown Golding or Goldring--the word "brown," was commonly used in both French and English in the 19th century to describe the color we now call bronze, which in this variety gives the leaf tips and edges a slight blush. This is too tasty a lettuce to miss because of a word, so I've updated it.
