Lettuce, Quan Yin Summercrisp
A favorite with many of our customers and friends, who love the big juicy heads, bolt-resistance, and ability to stay bitter-free in summer heat. Really good winter hardiness as well, but these big heads take a bit longer to mature than leaf or butterhead types, so start your fall crop a bit early. Quan Yin is the Chinese goddess of abundance, and the name is well-bestowed--this gives you lots of lettuce for summer salads. An OSSI Open Source variety bred by Don Tipping in the Southern Oregon mountains. Our seed was grown by Brookside Farm.
