A favorite with many of our customers and friends, who love the big juicy heads, bolt-resistance, and ability to stay bitter-free in summer heat. Really good winter hardiness as well. Heads can get quite large and hold a long time. Start fall crop earlier than a butterhead or leaf lettuce--not only can the heads get bigger, but the seeds will sprout in hot weather, giving them a jump on other lettuces that require cooler soil for germination. Quan Yin is the Chinese goddess of abundance, and the name is well-bestowed. Quan Yin gives you lots of lettuce for summer salads.
