Prudens Purple Tomato

A favorite because it combines spectacular flavor with dependability and easy culture. Very good disease resistance and productivity. Surprising earliness for a tomato of this large size, silky texture, and complex, sweet flavor. Similar to Brandywine in color and flavor, but earlier, slightly smaller (up to one lb), and frankly, easier to grow well. Also has some resisitance to Late Blight, which is an increasing problem in the US. 70 days. 25 seeds

Purple can be a confusing word when it comes to tomatoes. Prudens Purple is a lovely pink-red. (Cherokee Purpleon the other hand, is actually closer to the black types, a mahogany tone.)
