Smallest of the onion clan, this little herb looks almost like a clump of grass--until it blooms with dozens of purple clusters of edible flowers, or until you smell the subtle onion scent, perfect when chopped in so many dishes. Almost impossible to kill, hardy below zero, impervious to flooding. It does need water. And repays you with fresh onion-scented herb for months and months.
