Eel River Melon
Living on the Eel, I was interested to see what this was like. Well, it's one of the most delicious melons out there! Creamy, sweet, peachy flavor. Juicy, smooth tender flesh. This is a favorite among melon lovers. The story goes that the original seeds were brought from Japan after WWII in an ex-serviceman's pocket, grown for years in Humboldt County, CA, and then grown, improved, and selected by Bill Reynolds of Eel River Produce. Bill is the master grower behind the Dark Star Zucchini, Stella Blue Squash, and other organic favorites. Maturing a bit after the early muskmelons, this is a Crenshaw type. Ready when the green splashes on the skin start turning orange--so you don't have to guess when to harvest. 30 seeds.
