Eel River Melon
Creamy, sweet, peachy flavor. Juicy, smooth tender flesh. This is a favorite among melon lovers. Maturing a bit after the early muskmelons, this is a Crenshaw type. Ready when the green splashes on the skin start turning orange--so you don't have to guess when to harvest. The story goes that the original seeds were brought from Japan after WWII in an ex-serviceman's pocket, grown for years in Humboldt County, CA, and then grown, improved, and selected by the late Bill Reynolds of Eel River Produce. Bill was the master grower behind the Dark Star Zucchini, Stella Blue Squash, and other organic favorites.30 seeds.
