Great all-round herb for the landscape as well as the kitchen garden. Great for use as a culinary herb, both as fennel leaf and as fennel seed. Fennel tea is an age-old remedy for stomach cramps and gas pains, including infant colic.Heirloom variety from the Abundant Life Seed Foundation, from before the tragic fire that destroyed their collections. Leaves emerge red and become dark bronze as they mature, making a spectacular background for bright flowers or silver-leaved herbs. Flowers attract butterflies. A dramatic filler in bouquets. (This is a non-bulbing fennel--if you want bulbing fennel. see Perfection Fennel in the vegetable section.) From Frank and Karen Morton at Shoulder to Shoulder Farm. 60 seeds
