Rattlesnake Pole Snap Bean
A heat-tolerant heirloom pole bean, producing juicy, sweet 7" beans with outstanding flavor all summer. Dual purpose--you can grow it for dry soup beans as well. From the deep South, and adapted to high heat. They will set beans in 100-degree weather, which is unusual--most beans fail to produce over 85 degrees or so. Round pods are medium green, and brushed with purple streaks which disappear when cooked, a handy indicator for blanching. Stays stringless for a long time. Beans are easy to find in the foliage, and easy to pick. Great fresh, canned, frozen, or left on the vine to make soup beans. Healthy, vigorous vines to about 8'. The dry beans are tan with a brown "rattlesnake" pattern.
