Well-known and loved perennial herb and landscape plant. Indispensable for flavoring meats, potatoes, and pasta. (I like to put fresh leaves in olive oil to get the flavor without the whole
leaf. or use the twigs for skewers that give subtle flavor to food.) Treasured as a medicinal herb as well, it has been used for centuries to strengthen memory and mental alertness. Modern science has identified anti-oxidants in rosemary that prevent the fats in meat from forming problematic compounds. Promotes circulation. Used for centuries to keep hair and scalp healthy and beautiful. I would hate to be without this plant.
In cold climates people bring the plants inside in a pot for the winter. In warmer climates, it makes a shrub or hedge that is beautiful all year, can be pruned to virtually any shape, and blooms profusely in winter. It is hardy to about 15 degrees. Great winter habitat for beneficial insects.
