Kaslala Multicolor Quinoa
A really outstanding quinoa, with big yields of relatively large seeds* in a range of colors from red to black, cocoa, buff, chocolate and white. (You may have seen "tricolor" quinoa in the store--this is that color range and flavor.) Great nutty flavor. Tall plants are later than short varieties but very high-yielding. The plants are themselves amazing, with magenta stems and some colored leaves as well. Young leaves can be used in salad. This is an ornamental edible for sure--some florists are even using quinoa as a cut flower. One of the varieties brought from the Andes to Colorado in the 1980's. Stewarded by John McCamant in Colorado and Ellen Bartholomew in California since then. Ellen grew our seed. 300 seeds
*quinoas adapted to North America have somewhat smaller seeds than grain imported from South America.
