I've gotten a lot of requests for these, and am happy to carry them because they are delicious! They also love summer heat, which is hard on many other green bean types. These are the very long green beans that are used in Asian dishes. The texture is outstanding--both tender and crisp, without fibrous strings. Flavor is mild and sweet. You may have seen them in bunches at the market--slender like a pencil but very very long. Our variety, "Red Noodle", is deep red on the vine, making them easy to see and pick, but turn green when cooked. The vines are large and vigorous, so a good trellis is a must. Thrives in hot an humid climates, but is more drought-tolerant than regular garden beans, due to their large and vigorous root system. Yard-long beans are more closely related to black-eyed peas and other cowpeas, so they will not cross with garden beans if you are seed-saving. Like cowpeas, they attract many pollinators and beneficials. 50 seeds
