Easy and adaptable, very mild-flavored Asian greens. More heat-resistant and mild-flavored than Vitamin Green, which it replaces. Good winter-hardiness as well. Leaves are smooth and have a good texture and flavor for salads. Older leaves are an excellent all-purpose green for light cooking. Midribs are juicy and crunchy, like romaine midribs. In it's Japanese homeland, it's called Komatsuna. Sometimes called Mustard Spinach because while it belongs to the mustard family, it can be used much like spinach.
