Well-known treat for cats that is also a great tea herb and (who knew?) a natural insect repellent. Can be mixed with chamomile for an evening tea. The same mix is used for fevers and restlessness. The small, white flowers are attractive to honey bees and wild bees. Grows best in full sunlight and average, well-drained soils. Drought tolerant and deer resistant. The essential oil has mosquito repellent qualities. Cut and dry for tea as flowering is just beginning. In any case, cut off spent flower stalks if you don't want it to reseed. Sow seed on a sandy, fast-draining medium and barely cover. Scarifying the seed lightly with sandpaper before sowing improves germination. 100 seeds
