A customer favorite from the old Bountiful Gardens catalog that I am happy to bring back. Firm, crispy, juicy roots up to 14" long are great in salads, as dippers, or lightly cooked. It is also excellent for lightly fermented pickles. Slow-bolting and can be planted spring to fall, but easiest for fall. I like to plant these as an understory to taller plants during mid-to-late summer, where they can get some shade and moisture during hot weather, and take over the space in fall. This variety is a dento yasai, or heritage vegetable of Japan. 150 seeds
