A reliable, vigorous barley that matures quickly and has excellent flavor. Has 2 rows of seed in each head, which makes them lighter and less prone to falling over (lodging) than 6-row barley. The plant tends to make more stems, so yield is about the same as for 6-row barleys. Pale tan color and mild flavor make it a good culinary variety for pilaf and grinding. Grows about 3 ft tall, and matures in 65-70 days.
