Also known as "Thelma Saunders' Sweet Potato," this has the nutty flavor and perfect size that acorn squash is known for, along with a lot of rich sweetness. I find that the blond color is a big help at harvest; they don't get lost in the foliage. A very old Midwestern heirloom, stewarded and introduced by the Seed Savers Exchange. Squash like this have been grown on this continent for millennia and were bred by First Nations farmers from bitter wild gourds centuries ago.
