Red Dwarf Coreopsis
I really can't imagine a garden that couldn't use these. Rich mahogany-red looks at home anywhere, from cottage garden to sleek patio, and from vegetable beds to pots. This native plant is drought-tolerant, low-maintenance, and draws beneficial insects to the garden. Small size with lacy, wispy foliage means you can fit them all through the garden without shading other plants. Sturdy, windproof structure means you don't need to stake them, no matter how much they bloom. Fast growth means you don't have to baby seedlings if you don't want to--you can just sprinkle seeds around the garden after planting your veggies. And when they've taken a breather from blooming, just shear them off 6 or 8" from the ground with ordinary scissors and they'll bloom some more. Height to 2 ft. 200 seeds
