Heirloom from 1895, and a perpetual favorite at farmer's markets and high-end restaurants because of it's fresh, sweet flavor and juicy, crunchy texture. This is one of the few cucumbers that is used both for fresh eating and for pickling. Produces very early, and keeps going all summer. Crunchy white flesh is mild, sweet, and easy to digest. Rust and drought resistant. Fruits are the size and shape of a lemon. Eat them when they are when small and pale, before yellow color develops.  Grown by Bill Reynolds in Humboldt County, CA. 40 seeds.
