It's beautiful red/purple/green coloration gets deeper, brighter, and more psychedelic as the weather gets colder. More substantial than the Russian types, it it is perfect for winter soups, stews, and braises, with a very pleasant, sweet flavor. Gorgeous in the landscape or in tubs with flowers.
