Tuxana Sweet Corn
The largest ears and deepest kernels of any corn we offer. My favorite sweet corn, with creamy texture, well-balanced flavor, and lots of it. Several customers have told me they never had ears filled all the way to the tip until they grew Tuxana.
Tuxana's healthy leaves and big, well-filled ears could be mistaken for the classic hybrid Silver Queen, but it is an open-pollinated "new heirloom" from organic farmer Jonathan Spero. One of its parents is an ancient Native American sweet corn, giving Tuxana a sturdy constitution, and deep roots. That makes it a resilient crop that's much sturdier and less fussy than most corns. Another trait from its ancient ancestor is that it make one main stalk with two ears and often several smaller stalks each with an ear.Not as sugary-sweet as modern hybrids, but I think it is more satisfying. An OSSI open-source variety. 60 seeds
