- Genepools and Landrace Gardening
Some of these are varieties identified by their breeder as a variable "breeder's mix" containing lots of diversity for further selection. Some are old landrace varieties. Some are physical mixes of varieties that will cross and recombine if seed is saved. I have also included vegetables that are normally grown as annuals but that have perennial tendencies the seed-saver could use to further select for perennial habit. I have also included varieties that I have found to have a lot of variability in my garden, which would lend themselves to further selection or to preserving as a diverse genepool.
